The Linksys switch’s front panel will indicate the status of the connection. After powering on the switch and connecting a computer or network device to an available numbered port, the following should be lit:
System
1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8
NOTE: The number of Ethernet LEDs depends on the number of Ethernet ports of the switch.
Checking the Switch’s LEDs
Step 1:
Make sure the System LED is lit.
Step 2:
Make sure the numbered port (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8) is lit.
NOTE: If the numbered port (1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7 or 8) is not lit, make sure the computer is powered on. You can also try connecting the PC using another working cable.
